Rules and regulations
Read these terms carefully before submitting a booking. Your acceptance is recorded with the booking and applies throughout your stay.
Semester rent and occupancy
Semester rent is UGX 800,000 and is payable in full at the beginning of the semester. A resident may not check in until the semester invoice is fully paid. Every room is strictly single-occupancy.
Security
Management provides security within the Divine Hostel premises and maintains the security lighting around the property.
Visitors
Visitors are permitted from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Overnight visitors are not permitted unless they have been registered and expressly approved by management.
Electricity
Each resident is expected to pay the configured semester electricity fee at the beginning of every semester. The current amount is shown in the fee schedule below.
Water
Management currently meets 90% of the water cost. Any change to this arrangement will be communicated to residents.
Room inspections and damage reporting
Management may inspect rooms approximately every two months to monitor hostel property and room condition. Residents must promptly report existing or new damage, including bathroom fittings, tiles, paint and other hostel property.
Walls and nailing
Residents may not nail, mat or otherwise alter walls without management approval. The current charge for unauthorised nailing or related wall damage is shown in the fee schedule below.
Theft
Theft and possession of another person's property without permission are prohibited. Incidents may be referred to the police and may lead to termination of residence.
Gate hours
The gate normally closes at midnight and reopens at 5:00 a.m. Residents are expected to observe these hours for the safety of residents and property.
Noise
Televisions, radios, speakers and other devices must be kept at a considerate volume so that other residents are not disturbed.
Holiday stay
A resident who is approved to remain during the holiday is charged the configured holiday stay fee shown in the fee schedule below.
Vacating
A resident intending to vacate or move elsewhere must give management at least one week's notice. Management will inspect the room before departure or the holiday.
Parties
Parties are prohibited unless management gives prior approval. A request should be made at least one week before the proposed event.
Cleanliness
Residents must keep their rooms and shared surroundings clean. Serious or repeated non-compliance may lead to termination of residence.
Next of kin
Every resident must provide at least two next-of-kin contacts, their telephone numbers and physical addresses for emergency use.
Alcohol, smoking and drugs
Drug abuse, marijuana, cigarettes, alcohol and disorderly intoxicated behaviour are prohibited on the premises. A breach may result in expulsion from the hostel.
Holiday room retention
A returning resident who receives approval to leave belongings and retain a room during the holiday must pay the configured room-retention fee at the beginning of the holiday. It is separate from a new applicant's booking deposit.
Restricted areas
Residents must obey instructions concerning restricted areas. The rooftop is out of bounds; the current charge for unauthorised rooftop access is shown in the fee schedule below.
Current fee schedule
These are live operational defaults. Management can update configurable charges before issuing an invoice; an issued invoice keeps its recorded amount.
Booking acknowledgement
By selecting “I have read and agree” on the booking form, the applicant confirms that they understand and accept this version of the Divine Hostel rules and regulations.
